A Drugs Wing was established in the corporation with objectives of making available essential medicines of good quality, at all health facilities in the state, at all times, procured at competitive prices in a transparent manner and to promote rational use of medicines. The objectives involve, activities like collecting indents, calling tenders, conducting Technical Evaluation by involving DCA authorities, organizing Rate Contract Committee, placing purchase orders, issue of medicines to various government health facilities through the Central Medicine Stores in the Districts.

For the year 2015-16, budget allotted for medicines was Rs.114.62 Cr. for 10 Districts. The budget reserved for FDHS (104 Vehicles ) was Rs.3.20 Cr. and for UHCs Rs.2.30 Cr. and the remaining budget was allotted to 4 HODs as shown below:

The TSMSIDC procures and supplies the Essential Surgical Items, Surgical Instruments and Additional Surgical Items as per Essential Surgical List to all the Government Hospitals/Institutions by calling tender on e-procurement platform.

For the year 2015-16, budget allotted for Surgical & Consumables is Rs.21.856 Cr.

As per G.O.Rt.No.153 HM&FW Dt:28.07.2012 the budget allotted to 3 HODs for procurement of Surgicals items under Centralized and Decentralized procurement for the year 2015-16 is shown below.
